Nike Air Jordan 1 Flyknit "Banned" Release
Nike Air Jordan 1 Flyknit "Banned"
1985 was a year that changed Basketball and the sneaker world forever. This came with the release of Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe, the Nike Air Jordan 1 Bred.
Initially the Nike Air Ship, the prototype for the Jordan 1 was outlawed by NBA Commissioner David Stern for having very little white on them. It is a common misconception that the Jordan 1 was banned however, it provided great marketing for the shoe release and instantly sold out.
More recently Nike and Jordan Brand come together to officially introduce the combining of a iconic model and innovative Flyknit material technology. Flyknit is precision-engineered material constructed stitch by stitch to create targeted zones of support for adaptive performance.
